Lots of baseball. But quickly, quickly…

The general consensus is that I should focus on the sex… so I’ll make this quick.

Target Field - Minnesota Twins
Target Field – Minnesota Twins

The first of the Twins’s three losses on my trip. Tied 3-3 versus the Pittsburgh Pirates they fall behind 7-3 in the 8th but amazingly come back to tie it with 4 runs of their own. And then lose it on a home run by Jung Ho Kang in the 9th.

I leave Minneapolis after the game, not getting out of the parking lot until 11:45pm, and hit the road for Chicago.

It’s a 6+ hour trip. I drive about 150 miles and hunker down in a rest area to sleep for a few hours. I wake up and continue the drive into Chicago, deal with the insane gameday traffic, and search valiantly for a parking spot in one of the southside lots. Ugh. What a mess!

Wrigley Field – Chicago Cubs

But the stadium? Exquisite! Literally goosebumps walking into that place.

John Lester put on a show by striking out 14 batters. Cubs beat the Colorado Rockies 3-2.

After the game I fight the Chicago traffic and make my way up to Milwaukee. I sleep very well that night!

Miller Park - Milwaukee Brewers
Miller Park – Milwaukee Brewers

The next night I head over to Miller Park to see the Milwaukee Brewers. Apparently the Cubs are following me. The attendance is 36,000 and I would estimate that at least 2/3 of them are loyal Cubs fans who made the hour+ trip north to see their team in “Wrigley North”. It was very odd to hear so much cheering for the visiting team. Cubs won handily 5-2.

Two nights later I’m back in Chicago rooting for my Yankees vs. the White Sox.

The Yankees get crushed 8-2. Well, that sucks.

Off to Detroit in the morning…
